Thoughtful Assessment Group (TAG)
TAG provides another level of support to Alvernia students by taking a proactive approach in offering personalized interventions, behavior strategies and resources to meet the students’ needs holistically. TAG is composed of various student-facing offices and is led by the Director of Social Services.
Employee Training
Professor sociologist and author and Alvernia's Office of Student Financial Services discussed financial aid in a presentation at the university's Professional Development Seminar in January, 2025. Dr. Donna M. Beegle also hosted a Poverty Training Workshop for faculty and staff, which included sessions on 'Communicating and Relating More Effectively Across Poverty Barriers' and 'Teaching and Learning Tools that Work for People Who Live in the Crisis of Poverty' in January, 2024.
