Mission & Ministry
The Office of Mission & Ministry at Â鶹ÊÓƵ provides opportunities for students, employees and alumni to respond to God's call by engaging in a community of faith, pursuing a life of service, and advancing peace and social justice initiatives in our community and in the world. While rooted in the spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Roman Catholic Church, the Office of Mission and Ministry recognizes the Christian call for inclusiveness and welcomes persons of all faith backgrounds, encouraging a spirit of ecumenism and inter-faith dialogue.
Student Assisi Pilgrimage Application
The Assisi Pilgrimage helps deepen the understanding of Alvernia's Franciscan heritage, allowing pilgrims to walk in the footprints of St. Francis and St. Clare. You will return to Alvernia renewed in spirit and inspired to live the university's mission in your daily life. The application and two letters of recommendation are due by Sept. 11, 2026. Send letters of recommendation to Cecilia.Bondy@alvernia.edu. Applying for the pilgrimage doesn't guarantee attendance. Application is open to juniors, seniors or fifth-year and above students.

Fromm Interfaith Award
Â鶹ÊÓƵ, with Michael and Susan Fromm, in the Fall of 2012 established the Fromm Interfaith Award. The winner of this award will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Students entering their junior or senior year are eligible to apply. Students must demonstrate an interest in the area of interfaith dialogue and submit a plan for a project or program that they will implement during the upcoming academic year.
